It was a warm and pleasant day..not too humid. I decided to take Nidhi to the park and collect some leaves thereafter for her new art project - Crayon Rubbing with Leaves. After spending 15 minutes digging and shoveling pebbles with her bucket and shovel, Nidhi was ready to pluck some leaves. We both took a long walk along the University Campus and collected a variety of leaves. She insisted on picking up some pine cones along the way. After coming home, we placed the leaves in a bucket of water (to prevent them from wilting/drying) as Nidhi wanted to "cool off" her body with some ice cream. After resting she was ready to do some art with the leaves. We chose three large leaves, patted them dry and used one leaf at a time for Crayon Rubbing. I placed the largest leaf on a writing pad, covered it with white paper and showed her how to rub a crayon all over the sheet. After seeing the result she wanted to do some more. We ended up with three leaf patterns in red, blue and green color. We have some more leaves that I plan to use it for another art - Leaf Printing on paper.

It's really cool that you think of lil things to keep Nidhi occupied and also bring out the creativity in her :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Laxmi...she is all into crafting and doing her own things now and I am enjoying it as well.
